About 4 Minutes Training Ltd

4 Minutes was founded in 2016 by Andy Crowhurst. At the time Andy was a Community Responder with the local Ambulance Service and this followed 13 years as a volunteer with the Oxfordshire Red Cross.
Andy was already Running a Technology Business, founded in 1997 and applied his Business Skills to convert a hobby into a full-time Business. 2026 is the 10th Anniversary of 4 Minutes’ formation and it currently runs about 150 courses a year, training about 1,000 learners in First Aid and Mental Health first Aid.
Timeline
- 1988 – Andy joined Oxfordshire Red Cross, working his way up to running the local Centre
- 2005 – Having left the Red Cross in 2000 he jointly formed his local Community Responder Scheme as part of a National initiative to improve Response times to the most critical of 999 calls
- 2016 – Andy formed 4 Minutes Training and started to deliver First Aid training across the UK. One of its first Clients was English Heritage and it is a testament to the quality of the training that it remains 4 Minutes’ biggest client today
- 2019 – 4 Minutes Training wins Dragons’ Den star Theo Paphitis’ Small Business Sunday Award
- 2019 – 4 Minutes acquires Ladybird First Aid, bringing in several local Businesses as clients
- 2021 – As the business expands, Andy takes on Jane as his PA
- 2022 – 4 Minutes moves to Bray Business Centre
- 2023 – The Institute for Outdoor Learning approves 4 Minutes’ Outdoor & Forest School First Aid courses for being aligned with their Recommendations
- 2025 – Andy has always been supported by trusted Freelance trainers, however due to expansion he now has taken on his first full-time trainer, Chris

Why Book 4 Minutes?
- We are a flexible, privately run Business. We can, and have, delivered a course with a day’s notice, when other providers have let clients down
- As there are two full-time Trainers as well as a number of vetted, trusted freelancers available we have resilience to be able to deliver your course in the event of a Trainer falling ill, or having a vehicle break down. We will do our best to make sure that we deliver your course. Training Companies consisting of an individual don’t have this luxury
- Our trainers come from a frontline Medical, Military or Police background. They have the practical real-life experience
- Registered Company on Companies House and VAT Registered. Our financial details are open for inspection.
- If you call during Office hours you will get a human answering that can answer your query, or take a message
